Got here from Twitter. I'm just about to press the 'follow' button.
Looks like you've got a very tidy, interesting site here. Hope it all goes well for you.
(Us Brit's must stick together)

Good luck.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi Gerald - thanks for taking the time to post a comment. I understand your sentiments entirely, but I do feel it's best to cautious, one of the emails I had in reply to my message, was from a gentleman who had, had a virus via his My Space account last year which wiped out his hard drive, so it seems they do exist. Although there are pranksters out there, there are also a lot of "New" people on-line that don't have the experience of good people like yourself, your points about protection are valid but I do feel it's better to be safe than sorry.
Thanks again

I meant to say over 10 years. I was thinking that if it is 2008 it has actually been over 11. Sorry for the mistake, not that it really means anything to anyone. The 8 came from this year being 2008

The only thing viral about it is people sending it around to all their friends on all the different sites. Facebook, Myspace, Xanga, My Yearbook, all of those groups are subject to this childish warning about people, real or not, that are claimed to be viruses or bad people. I wish people would realize that it is a waste of time, effort, and internet traffic to send these things around, when some pimple faced kid in Detroit just wanted to have some fun and see how far around it goes. Every time he sees it, he laughs at all of you for falling for his hoax. Sometimes these are started as vicious high school or junior high pranks against someone that just broke up with a friend, or someone they are mad at, and they put this out there so nobody will talk with them. It doesn't work. I have been on the internet for over 8 years, and have had thousands of these warnings. Guess how many emails/bulletins/comments/posts/contacts I got from the people these warnings are about? NONE. That is because they are not true. If they were, I would have had at least one in over 10 years. What kind of average is that? If I were to add up all the hoaxes I have received like this, they are WAY more bothersome than a fear of getting a virus.

Keep an effective firewall, virus program, and anti spyware program, run them regularly, keep them active, and you should have no problems. In fact, Spybot comes with a registry protection that will not let anyone hijack your browser, home page, or add any links or advertisements to your browsing. Ijust keep protected, and quite frankly get annoyed at these warnings when they are childish pranks and hoaxes. I hope everyone that reads this will learn from it and be more mature about their browsing.

thanks for the warning - as a general rule If there is no message in the friend request reminding me why I know this person asking for a friend request I just hit "Ignore" - unless of course I know them
